"A cookie is a small bit of information that a web site stores on your computer." -Netscape

As aforementioned, the password protection on the Board of Directors area uses cookies. The use of cookies helps to balance needed security with ease of use. For example, if you log into the Board Area with your password, the computer stores your password as a cookie enabling you access for a short period of time after your initial login. The following information provides you with instructions on enabling cookies on your computer. The instructions are organized by browser type and version. To identify your browser version in Internet Explorer (IE) you typically look under Help, and then About Internet Explorer. America Online (AOL) works the same way. In Netscape the location is similar, typically under Help followed by About Netscape/Navigator.


In the instances below "x" as in IE 6.x represents the possible different versions such as IE 6.1.



Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer 6.x
  • On your menu bar select Tools.
  • Select Internet Options.
  • Select the Privacy Tab.
  • The default in this browser is Medium. Medium is the appropriate setting for our purposes.

Internet Explorer 5.x
  • On your menu bar select Tools.
  • Select Internet Options.
  • Select the Security Tab.
  • After selecting the Security Tab you will see Internet and Custom
  • Under custom, click the Custom Level button.
  • Scroll through the settings until you see Cookies.
  • You will see "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer," select  Enable.
  • You will also see "Allow per session cookies (not-stored)", here also select  Enable.
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK.

Internet Explorer 4.x

Netscape

Netscape 6.x
  • On your menu bar select Edit.
  • Select Preferences.
  • You will see a selection of categories on the left. Each item has a triangle   to the left.
  • Click the triangle  once to the left of Privacy and Security.
  • Now the triangle will face down   displaying the sub-categories.
  • Click once on cookies.
  • Select  Enable all cookies.
  • Click OK.

Netscape 4.x
  • On your menu bar select Edit.
  • Select Preferences.
  • Under Preferences you will see categories.
  • Click twice on Advanced to bring up its menu. The bottom half of the screen will say Cookies.
  • Under Cookies select  Accept all cookies.
  • Click OK.

Netscape 3.x
  • Cookies are automatically enabled in this version of Netscape.

America Online (AOL)

AOL 7.x
  • On your menu bar select Settings.
  • Select Preferences
  • On the Preferences screen select Internet Properties (WWW):
  • Select the Security Tab.
  • After selecting the Security Tab you will see Internet and Custom
  • Under custom, click the Custom Level button.
  • Scroll through the settings until you see Cookies.
  • You will see "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer," select  Enable.
  • You will also see "Allow per session cookies (not-stored)", here also select  Enable.
  • Click OK.
  • Click OK.


  • If you are using an older version of America Online follow the steps listed above for older versions of Internet Explorer.
