OUR MISSION
Our Mission Statement is brought to life in every PHI Community. Over 2400 PHI employees and countless volunteers are committed to providing our residents higher values and faith based compassion and we strive to meet that commitment every day. Back to Top More about PHI and Presbyterian Homes Governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees committed to meeting the diverse needs of seniors, PHI has spent more than 75 years building communities that make our residents feel at home. PHI, located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, is the parent company of Presbyterian Homes, Inc. As PHI's major subsidiary, Presbyterian Homes, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation consisting of five continuing care retirement communities, two health centers, two assisted living residences and three independent living properties. Other PHI subsidiaries include three not-for profit continuing care retirement communities; Presbyterian Homes in the Presbytery of Huntingdon, with four locations in Central Pennsylvania; and an information systems company. Back to Top Our Not-for-Profit Status Being not-for-profit gives PHI the freedom to concentrate on the needs of residents first. While for-profit corporations have the dual responsibility of providing care and satisfying the needs of investors, we can be more sharply focused on meeting the needs of residents. We believe that the ability to express these higher values also enables us to attract employees and volunteers with similar values. Back to Top Our Perfect Size PHI has the strength of a relatively large organization, and the financial resources to provide the security that older persons expect from an organization that promises to be there for as long as they need us. Our BBB+ rating by Standard and Poor's is an affirmation of the financial strength behind this promise. Our individual facilities, however, are relatively small reflecting PHI's commitment to the personal touch. Our communities are places where the staff can know each resident as an individual, and where resident likes and dislikes are recognized and accommodated whenever possible. Back to Top Our Unique Communities The common ingredient in every PHI location is the care and compassion articulated in the Mission Statement - everything else about each PHI community is unique. From the design of the buildings to the food service programs to the planned social and recreational activities, each PHI community has its own personality. Our residents work hand-in-hand with PHI management and staff to create the kind of communities they really want. Resident Self-Determination is how we describe the self-governance and active involvement our residents have in designing programs, participating in committees, as well as managing activities and events that direct Resident Life in each of our 14 communities.
